Your tax-deductible gift to the San Francisco Disability Cultural Center will help boost disabled people’s expertise, support workshops and performances that showcase disability culture, and build a stronger disability community near and far. We are a proud project of the L.C. and Lillie Cox Haven of Hope, a 501c3 (EIN 46-0830760) nonprofit organization.
The Disability Cultural Center is made possible thanks to the support of the City of San Francisco’s Department of Disability and Aging Services. We are fortunate to have their funding to launch this new center, and we also know that to keep this exciting work going, we will need more help from our community to keep it going.
Volunteer
We strongly believe in compensating disabled people for their labor and expertise. However, we have a few opportunities for volunteers to support the DCC in ways that contribute to collective access (material deliveries, serving as an access doula at a virtual program, writing alt text, and building our directory). If you want to support the DCC as a volunteer, please email access@disabilityculturalcenter.org.
Student Fellows program
In partnership with the Longmore Institute on Disability at San Francisco State University, we employ university students with disabilities. We support student fellows with professional development, mentorship, and education about disability heritage and culture. From screening films for Superfest to running our social media, the students have an opportunity to develop their potential as changemakers while working in a disability-forward environment. Currently enrolled students at SFSU who are interested in applying should reach out to access@disabilityculturalcenter.org.
Sponsorship opportunities
Our larger community events are made possible thanks to generous sponsors. If you or your company wants to support bringing diverse disability communities together to celebrate, restore, and thrive, we’d love to talk. You can read about sponsorships for Superfest Disability Film Festival here and email access@disabilityculturalcenter.org to learn more.
