Cafe Crip is a monthly gathering to talk about important topics within our disability communities. Environmental Justice and Climate Change. Vanessa Raditz and Patty Berne said it best: “If we can build an intersectional climate justice movement—one that incorporates disability justice, that centers disabled people of color and queer and gender nonconforming folks with disabilities—our species might have a chance to survive.” Let’s get into the work that’s being done, and what we can do together to build this movement. We send readings in advance, but they are optional, and there will be plenty of opportunities to jump in if your capacity doesn’t allow for reading them. Facilitator Bianca Laureano leads the group through community agreements and access principles to ensure everyone can join this informal community-building hangout.
