Venue: San Franscisco Public Library – Main

Location: 1155 Market Street, 10th Floor

Price: Free!

Event Description: National Federation of the Blind leader, civil rights activist, and author Ever Lee Hairston reflects on change through the lens of identity—who we are before transformation, and who we become when we find our voice. Drawing from lived experience, she explores how courage and self-advocacy move us from accommodation to participation, leadership, and action today.

Meeting and marching with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. marked a turning point in Ever Lee’s life, shaping the voice she would carry forward in a lifetime of service to the Federation, Civil Rights Movement, and beyond. She is also the author of Blind Ambition: One Woman’s Journey to Greatness Despite Her Blindness.
